Vishnu Sahasranama in Kannada

INTRODUCTION
The Vishnu Sahasranama (the Thousand Names of Vishnu) scripture is a part of the ancient Hindu epic Mahabharata. It is essentially a prayer to the supreme Hindu diety Vishnu, by glorifying his innumerable qualities in the form of mellifluous poetry.
There are three sections to this hymn. The first is a Prelude, setting up the scenario prior to the actual recitation of the Sahasranama. Here the King Yudhisthira asks the wise Bheeshma, who the most supreme Lord of the Universe is, and how man can attain freedom, peace and prosperity. Bheeshma replies that it is indeed Vishnu who is the Lord, and by chanting His thousand names, man can attain happiness. Now begins the second section, the actual Sahasranama, when Bheeshma proceeds to recite the sacred names of the Lord. The final section is called the Phalastuti, where all the benefits of chanting the Sahasranama, or even merely listening to it, are enunciated.
From a rational perspective, one cannot prove that these wondrous benefits will indeed occur to you, if you chant the Sahasranama. However, if you have faith in the presence of a supreme God, the same faith can be extended to believing that chanting His names will benefit you. Positive thinking brings to you the advantages that you desire.
